History:

At the time of the 1910 census, there were 31 people living in 8 apartments in Parkveien 62. City manager Georg Johannesen owned the property and lived there with his family. Merchants, clerks, wholesalers, and shipowners also lived there.

In 1910, Parkveien 62 housed Kristiania's Reading Society for Women. The Reading Society was established in 1874, and Camilla Collett was the initiator and an important inspiration. The Society made it possible for women to decide for themselves which books to buy, and which statutes would apply to the group. They could also take books home.
