Corporate social responsibility
Good real estate is about more than just square metres and profits. It's about creating value that lasts – both for those who use our buildings, those who build them, and for the city in which we are a part.
The Transparency Act: Do you know your suppliers?
MAYA complies with the Transparency Act, which requires big companies to carry out assessments to avoid negative consequences for human rights and working conditions. We have good guidelines in place that ensure a sustainable and responsible value chain.
All our biggest suppliers are Norwegian players. This makes follow-up easier, but not easy. The journey from raw materials to a finished building often goes through many stages. We have reviewed 56 of our largest suppliers to ensure that they take their responsibility seriously.
Where we build, we will also contribute
MAYA is part of Oslo and the surrounding area – not only as a landlord, but as a neighbour. That's why we support initiatives that make the city a better place to live and work.
Our sponsorships are about giving something back to the communities of which we are a part. From sports and cultural events to local initiatives that create meeting places and activity in our local communities. We choose to provide support where we see that it will make a concrete difference.
We are building for the future, not just for today
Since 1992, we have been building homes and commercial buildings that will stand for generations. This means that we think long-term – not just about what looks good now, but about what will work in 30 years.
We have already reduced our greenhouse gas emissions from heating by 80 per cent since 2010. Our goal is a 95 percent reduction by 2030. We are doing this not because anyone is compelling us to do so, but because it makes sense – both for the environment and for our customers who have to pay their electricity bill.
You can use our form to submit your questions. We will respond promptly during working hours, which are normally 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, or the following day.
